State swimming: Mosley athletes break records
Comments 0 | Recommend 0ORLANDO - Three school and county records were broken by Mosley swimmers on Saturday at the Class 2A state finals.
Sara Evans smashed the records in the 100-breaststroke with a time of 1:06.71 and in the 200 IM in 2:08.51. Both times shaved 2 seconds off the old marks. She finished fourth in the breakstroke and fifth in the medley.
The Mosley boys 200-freestyle relay broke the previous record from 2005 with a new record time of 1:31.86, finishing 11th overall. The relay members were Jordan Newman, Sammy Reyes, Kyler Hast, and Michael Perdomo.
Mosley's girls finished 16th overall and the boys were 24th.
Other swimmers included:
- Girls 200 medley relay of Victoria Hove, Kyle Olstad, Brielle Seaman and Candice Hilton placed 12th with a 1:57.00 in the finals, a 1:56.89 in prelims.
- Boys 200 medley relay of Nate Williams, Matt Reece, Michael Perdomo, and Kyler Hast placed 14th in the finals with a 1:45.98, and in prelims had a time of 1:44.73 with Michael Perdomo, Matt Reece, Matt Bryant and Kyler Hast.
Kurt Fuhrmann placed 20th in the 1-meter diving.
Matt Bryant placed 8th in the 100-butterfly with a time of 54.18. - Kyle Olstad placed 11th in the girls 100-breaststroke with a time of 1:10.76 in the finals, and 1:10.31 in prelims.
- Matt Reece placed 22nd in the 100-breaststroke with a time of 1:04.53.
- The girls 400-freestyle relay of Candice Hilton, Victoria Hove, Mary McDermott and Sara Evans placed 13th in the finals with a time of 3:44.88. The relay of Hilton, Kyle Olstad, McDermott, and Evans swam a 3:44.36 in prelims.
