Mosley boys third at district tournament

TALLAHASSEE — Mosley boys placed third as a team, and the Dolphin girls were fifth at the District 2-3A tournament at Leon High School.

Mosley’s Sam Bennett and Jamison Hall reached the boys’ No. 3 and No. 4 singles championships, respectively, but were defeated in the title matches. Bennett and Hall reached the semifinals in No. 2 doubles before falling.

Leon won both team titles.

BOYS

Singles

  • No. 3 — Championship: Brandon Doran (Leon) d. Sam Bennett (M) 6-0, 6-1.
  • No. 4 — Championship: Eric Epting (Leon) d. Jamison Hall (M) 6-0, 6-2.

Doubles

  • No. 2— Semifinals: Wayne Zhao-Brandon McMurray (Chiles) d. Bennett-Hall (M) 7-6 (2), 6-1.

GIRLS

Doubles

  • No. 2 — Semifinals: Jana Miles-Makayla Lewis (M) forfeit due to illness.
