Arnold's Allen, Williams named to Class 5A all-state teams
Prolific running back Andre Allen and Alabama commitment Eddie Williams, teammates at Arnold, were recognized on the Class 5A All-State Football Team released during the weekend.
Allen became the first running back in Bay County history to rush for 2,000 yards in back-to-back seasons. The county Offensive Player of the Year was a first-team selection, joining Florida Dairy Farm Player of the Year Duke Johnson of Miami Norland and Jamie Gilmore of Citra North Marion as running backs on the first team.
Williams, a standout defensive player who was forced to most of his snaps on offense in 2011 because of team needs, was chosen to the second team at defensive back. Both players are seniors, Allen having verbally committed to Troy.
Mosley was represented by honorable mention selections Mark Hicks at linebacker and Mark Grant at place-kicker on the Class 6A team.
The Class 3A and 4A squads also were released. No area schools were members of 3A this season, and Marianna, the lone area 4A school did not have any players selected.
