Tennis: Bennett, Hall lead Dolphins

TALLAHASSEE — Mosley’s Sam Bennett and Jamison Hall each advanced to the District 2-3A finals in singles play and also paired up to advance to the No. 2 doubles semis at Leon High School.

Competing in No. 3 singles, Bennett defeated Nick Davis of Choctawhatchee in the first round and ousted Fort Walton Beach’s Colin Tuthill in the semifinals. Hall had a first-round bye in No. 4 singles and swept Choctaw’s Danny Alcivar 6-0, 6-0 in the semifinals. Bennett and Hall then defeated Davis and Alcivar in doubles play to reach Thursday’s semifinals.

In championship matches, Bennett will play Leon’s Alberto Ayala, and Hall will face Leon’s Eric Epting.

In the girls’ tournament, Mosley’s doubles team of Makayla Lewis and Jana Miles remained alive with a 6-3, 7-5 victory over Jessica Sauvageau and Emma Michenfelder of Choctaw.
