Area teams seek state cross country berths
Six area cross country teams and one individual boy will vie for state berths in respective regionals on Friday and Saturday.
Arnold’s girls and boys lead the area competitors in the Region 1-2A meet at Sunnyhill Farms in Tallahassee on Saturday. The Marlin boys have the best chance to advance after finishing third in last weekend’s district meet. The Marlin girls snagged the sixth and final qualifying spot. Marianna’s boys team, which was fifth in the district, also will compete in the regional meet.
Altha’s boys and girls teams, which both were fifth at district, Wewahitchka’s boys, sixth at district, and Graceville’s Kevin Potts will compete in the Region 1-1A meet at Gainesville Oak Hall on Friday.
The top six teams and top 15 individuals advance to the Florida High School Athletic Association Finals Nov. 20 in Dade City.
