Tennis: Mosley in good shape at district tourney

FORT WALTON BEACH — Mosley teams positioned themselves to have a say in Wednesday’s finals during the first day of the District 3-2A tennis tournament on Tuesday.

Both Mosley teams totaled seven points, the Dolphins’ girls second to Leon with 10. In the boys division, Lincoln leads with 10 followed by Leon with eight and then Mosley.

Mosley’s Adam Decker advanced in No. 1 singles with a 6-1, 6-1 win over Drew Morrison of Fort Walton Beach. Caleb Windholtz won 6-3, 6-4 at No. 2 singles over Jordan Coker of Choctawhatchee.

Ashley Ingram won for the Dolphins at girls No. 3 singles, defeating Emily Bennett of Choctawhatchee. Ingram and Sara Crane lost 6-2, 6-4 to Bennett and Kingon Walker at No. 2 doubles.

Also falling at No. 2 doubles were Mosley’s Grant Talkington and Samuel Bennett to Andrew Decotis and Howard Hennessey of Fort Walton Beach, who won 3-6, 6-5, 6-3.
