Softball: Arnold, Rutherford win; Mosley shut out

Rutherford 5, Port St. Joe 0: SPRINGFIELD — Gina Mathes gave up three hits and struck out six for Rutherford. Becca Taylor had two singles and Skylar Taggart two doubles for the Rams, 3-3.

Rutherford hosts Godby 6 p.m. Friday in District 2-4A.

Northview 9, Mosley 0

LYNN HAVEN — Mosley was held to five hits in the loss, with K.J. Faucheux rapping a single and double. Rachel Davis fell to 0-2 with the loss. The Dolphins (8-5) host Niceville on Friday at 6 p.m.

Mosley lost the JV game 2-1. Emily Locher pitched a one-hitter but was the tough-luck loser.

Arnold 3, Bay 1

PANAMA CITY BEACH — Delaney Dempsey gave up five hits and walked two with six strikeouts. Michelle Ostrovsky had two doubles, Lauren Butherus had a double and RBI and Lauren Turner an RBI single.

The Marlins, 6-3, 3-2 in District 1-3A, play at Walton 5:30 p.m. today.

For the Tornadoes, Courtney Jones had a triple, Abby Burnett was 1 for 3 and scored Bay’s run, Tiare Taylor was 1 for 3 and Lanae Mortz and Sarah Harris each hit safely.

Burnett pitched well in defeat.

Bay, 2-8, hosts Chipley today at 6 p.m.
