PANAMA CITY — Bay picked up a key district win Tuesday, defeating Chipley 8-0.
Kevin Husum recorded eight strikeouts in five innings en route to picking up the win.
Austin Hancock went 2 for 3 and Mikey Luing went 2 for 3 with a double. Husum added an RBI for the Tornadoes (6-4, 4-1).
Bay hosts Montgomery Academy at 6:30 p.m. Thursday.
The Bay JV team also defeated Chipley with a 5-1 victory. K.J. Jones earned the win with four strikeouts.
Andrew Deramo went 2 for 3 with 2 RBIs and Ben Tatum added a double and RBI for Bay.
The JV team faces Mosley at 4 p.m. Thursday.
Blountstown 12, Altha 3
BLOUNTSTOWN — Jordan Sweinhart went 4 for 4 with a double and a triple to lead Blountstown past Altha.
T.J. Granger recorded six strikeouts in four innings of work while going 3 for 4 with two doubles behind the plate. Garrison Bailey went 3 for 4 for the Tigers (6-6).
Blountstown faces Graceville at 3:30 p.m. Monday.

Petrie paces Mosley
FORT WALTON BEACH — Lifting in the 199-pound weight class, Mosley’s Nick Petrie placed first with a combined lift of 600 pounds at the District 1-2A qualifying meet.
Petrie posted a bench press of 325 pounds and a clean and jerk of 275 pounds.
Dolphin lifter Eddie San Juan was second at 139 with a combined lift of 480 pounds, and teammate Tyler Williams was second at 154 with a combined total of 515 pounds. Peyton Kirkley (219) finished third with a total lift of 500 pounds.
