SPRINGFIELD — Sam Brooks’ 26 service points and Sarah Robertson’s 10 kills powered Arnold to a 25-13, 25-23, 25-12 victory over host Rutherford in a District 1-5A volleyball match Thursday night.

Also for the Marlins, Madi Wichterman had seven kills and two blocks, Emma Moskowitz added six kills, and Alex Dyer had 29 assists and six service points. Brooks also had nine digs and five aces for Arnold (9-5, 5-1 district).

Arnold captured a 25-22, 25-15 victory in the junior varsity match.

The Marlins host Gulf Breeze on Tuesday.

Mosley 3, Crestview 0

LYNN HAVEN — Cayce May posted a team-high 11 kills and also had nine digs in Mosley’s  25-17, 25-17, 25-13 win over Crestview in a District 2-6A match at the Jim Redfern Gymnasium.

Deanna Canfield added six kills and 11 assists, Lindsey Richardson had 13 assists, Rachel Skibba contributed with five blocks and five kills, and Amanda Singletary had nine digs and four aces for Mosley (12-1, 5-0 district).

The Dolphins eked out a 25-23, 25-23 win in the JV match. Ashley Baber and Katie Lopes each tallied five kills, Heidi Nix had 13 assists, and Lindsey Tew recorded 23 perfect passes for the Dolphins (13-1).

Bay tops Rutherford

BAYOU GEORGE — Bay’s Samuel McLane fired a 39 to pace the Tornadoes in a 37-stroke team victory over county rival Rutherford in a nine-hole match at Bay Dunes Golf Club.

Bay finished with a team total of 171 strokes, and Rutherford finished at 208.

Michael Fowler shot a 43, followed by Bay teammates Daniel Fowler (48), Michael Lincoln (51) and Sam Gramling (52).

Chris Walters turned in the Rams’ best result with a 46. Joe Ernst shot a 52, Nick Nelson and Dev Nanji each shot a 55, and Neil Patel had a 58.

Meeks leads Arnold

MARIANNA — Hudson Meeks earned medalist honors with a 77, and Arnold cruised to a 57-stroke victory against Marianna in an 18-hole match at Indian Springs Golf Club.

Arnold’s Kip Karani finished two strokes behind Meeks, and Nick Frost (82), Erik Ihaksi (92) and Erick Stein (95) also competed for the Marlins.

Marianna’s Jake Mitchell guided the Bulldogs with a score of 80. Chane Pender added a 98, Kaibd Golden a 99 and Cody Bryan 110.

FWB 3, Bay 1

PANAMA CITY — Bay fell to Fort Walton Beach 25-13, 22-25, 25-16, 25-13 in a non-district match. Leading Bay was Errin Pennington with seven aces and eight kills. Brittany Dilley had four aces, Sierra Burris five kills and Marley Peters 24 assists.

Bay won the JV match 21-25, 25-22, 15-9. Taylor Lee led with five aces and 16 assists. Taylor Cowan had three aces and Courtlyn Stinson had three kills.
