Prep roundup (Oct. 16): Mosley falls to Chiles in volleyball
Comments 0 | Recommend 0LYNN HAVEN - Kelsey Bell had 11 kills and 12 digs for Mosley in a 25-23, 25-21, 25-21 District 2-5A loss to Chiles on Thursday.
Teammate Ann Delaney had 14 digs and 12 assists, Deanna Canfield had 16 assists and 12 digs, and Megan Williams had eight kills.
Mosley (17-5 overall) finished 3-5 in district matches to place fourth. The Dolphins play at Bay on Tuesday, with a junior varsity match at 4 p.m. and varsity match at 5:30 p.m.
Mosley's junior varsity team lost to Chiles 25-17, 23-25 and 15-12. Amanda Singletary had eight kills, Ta-sha Trazka had 10 assists and Brandy Blankenship had 18 digs.
Rutherford 3, Port St. Joe 0
SPRINGFIELD
Christin Beck had 11 service points, 22 assists, one kill and four digs to lead Rutherford past Port St. Joe 25-18, 25-22, 26-24.
Skylar Taggart had 10 service points and 14 digs, and Alyssa Bowen had two service points and 27 digs.
Rutherford (13-10) plays at Arnold on Monday, at 4 and 5:30 p.m.

Freeport 14, Bozeman 8
FREEPORT
Zach Martinez threw a 20-yard pass to Greg Weathers in the second quarter for Bozeman's only touchdown.
The game was tied 8-8 at halftime. Freeport scored the go-ahead touchdown late in the fourth quarter and intercepted a pass in the end zone with 25 seconds remaining to end Bozeman's final threat.
Bozeman (3-3) hosts Wewahitchka at 6 p.m. Tuesday.

Volleyball: Merritt Brown defeated Bay Haven 25-7, 21-25, 25-16, 25-16. Leaders: Maggie Heinfeld 18 service points, Katie Moses 13 points and five kills, Haley Flynn 12 points, Haley Austill 11 points. Mowat defeated Everitt 25-18, 25-16, 19-25, 25-16. Everitt leaders: Becca Taylor 12 service points, two aces, eight kills and 12 digs; Kaylyn Julian 10 points, one ace and seven digs; NaKiya Russell five points, four kills and nine digs; Cheyenne Beck eight points, one ace, one kill and four digs; Curstin Taylor nine points, one kill and eight digs; Bridget Keasey one point and three digs, Kelsey Quinn four points, Loren Pate one kill, Shavaria Hills one point, Kiera Bulter one dig.
