PANAMA CITY — Arnold’s girls edged Bay 4-3 in a high school tennis match to seal the Bay County championship on Thursday.

Bay’s girls fell to 2-7, 2-6, in defeat. Bay’s boys improved to 5-4 overall and 5-3 in District 1-3A with a 6-1 win. Bay hosts Mosley on Monday.

BRISTOL — Preston Brown was 2 for 3 with a double, two stolen bases and two RBIs to pace a Bay victory. Mikey Luing was 2 for 3 with a double and two RBIs, Dylan Barker 2 for 4 with a double and an RBI and Dustin Gibson 2 for 3 with two RBIs for Bay (8-5). Luing was one of five Bay pitchers and was the winner. Bay hosts Pensacola Catholic today.

Softball

Marianna 15, Arnold 14

PANAMA CITY BEACH — Arnold outhit Marianna 17-16, but made nine errors in the battle for first place in District 1-3A. Arnold trailed 15-9 with one out in the seventh inning and rallied with five runs and had a baserunner on third base before a diving catch ended the game.

Katie Godfrey was 3 for 5 with a home run, four runs scored and two RBIs, Michelle Ostrovsky 3 for 5 with two runs and two RBIs, Torrey Tomashot 4 for 5 with a double and two RBIs, Jade Sankey 3 for 5 with a double and two RBIs and Delaney Dempsey took the loss for the Marlins (12-3, 5-2 District 1-3A), who play Rutherford in the Bay County tournament today.

JV baseball

Bozeman 16, North Bay Haven 0

SAND HILLS — Brandon Suttles was 2 for 3 with two runs scored, Michael Bartlett 2 for 3 with a triple and two runs and Alec Alleywine 2 for 3 for Bozeman in the rout. Lucas Carter had 10 strikeouts in a no-hitter. He was a walk away from a perfect game for the Bucks (6-7), who are at Sneads today.

SAND HILLS — Bozeman dropped its second straight game to fall to 9-5 overall, 8-2 in district. Losing pitcher Ashley Davis gave up three earned runs in three-plus innings on Wednesday. Nicole Migliori had two singles and a double and Davis and Becca Hall two hits each for the Bucks.
