Baseball: Rutherford beats Northview: Holmes County ekes out win
Rutherford 6, Northview 3: DOTHAN, Ala. — Josh Jonas two-run double was the big hit in a four-run fifth inning as Rutherford improved to 4-2. Christo Jones was the winning pitcher, allowing one earned run in five innings. Jesse Pace pitched two hitless innings for the save.
Vincent Foxworthy was 2 for 2 for Rutherford, which hosts Godby at 6 p.m. Tuesday in a District 2-4A game.
Holmes County 14, Florida High 13
BONIFAY — Chad Wilson earned the win with 2 1/3 innings of relief with two strikeouts. Jeremy McGowan secured the save. Will Thompson was 2 for 4 with three-run double to give Holmes County the lead for good, Chase Arnold 3 for 4 with two RBIs, Zack Nolin had an RBI double. Holmes County (5-2) is at Chipley on Tuesday.

Bozeman 3-3, Freeport 3-0
SAND HILLS — Bozeman tied Freeport in the opener, but beat the Bulldogs 3-0 in the nightcap of a doubleheader.
A.J. VanSlyk batted 1 for 3 in the opener and had two doubles in the win. Bryan Mayo had a double for the Bucks, 7-0-1.
Winning pitcher Christian Dillahey pitched a five-inning shutout with five strikeouts.
Bozeman plays at Rutherford on Wednesday at 6 p.m.
