Cottondale's Forward named second-team all-state in Class 2A

Cottondale's Shaunte Forward was named to the second team of the Class 2A All-State Girls Basketball Team released Saturday. Forward, a 5-foot-6 junior guard, led the Hornets into the region finals, where they fell in overtime to eventual state champion North Florida Christian.
The only other area standout on the squad was Mary Howes, a 6-2 senior center from Ponce de Leon, who was named honorable mention.
