Prep roundup (Nov. 13): Bay girls soccer mercy rules Rickards

In boys soccer, Arbold, Mosley fall

TALLAHASSEE - Melissa David scored two goals to lead Bay to an 8-0 victory over Rickards on Thursday in a District 2-4A girls soccer game.

Three Bay players - Christina Harris, Julie Burrier and Rebecca Rockwell - each had a goal and an assist. Other goals were by Shelby McHugh, Angelica Middleton and Amanda Bagwell. Alex Burrier had an assist.
Keepers Suzie Turnage and Bekah Nelson each playing a half.

Bay (2-1, 2-1 district) plays at 6 p.m. today at Pensacola.

Boys soccer
Port St. Joe 1, Godby 1
PORT ST. JOE
Port St. Joe keeper Chase Watford made 24 saves, including stopping two penalty kicks, to help the Tiger Sharks earn a tie.

Port St. Joe only managed four shots during the game, but Brandon Peak scored on one of them. J. Mason Ray had an assist.

The Tiger Sharks (1-0-1) host Walton at 2 p.m. Saturday.

Choctawhatchee 2, Mosley 1
BAYOU GEORGE
Mosley outshot Choctawhatchee by nearly a 2-to-1 margin, dominated play in the second half, but blew a 1-0 halftime lead in its opening game of the season.
Kyle Adams scored the Dolphins only goal, assisted by Stuart Branstetter.

Keepers Warren Fleer and Blake Nobles each had three saves, with Fleer playing the first half and Nobles the second half.

Mosley won the junior varsity game 5-0 in its season-openere. Matt Perles scored three goals, and Eric Taylor scored one goal and one assist for the Dolphins. Cole Nycum scored a goal, Jamison Hall had two assists, and Brendan Hill and Richard Santora each had one assist. Keeper Josh Duncan had six saves.

Mosley plays Bay at Harders Park on Saturday, with the junior varsity game at 1 p.m. and varsity game at 3 p.m.

Wakulla 2, Arnold 0
CRAWFORDVILLE
Arnold keeper Adam Ogburn had 10 saves in the Marlins' season-opening match in District 2-4A

The Arnold junior varsity beat Wakulla 5-1 in its opening match. Nick Frost had three goals, and Dylan Sylvester had a goal and an assist. Thomas McDaniel had the other goal. Luke Mitchell and Chase Lance also had assists.

Keeper Manny Paravalos had seven saves.

Mosley plays at Rutherford on Saturday, with the JV game at 1 p.m. and varsity at 3 p.m.

Girls basketball
Choctaw 61, Mosley 46
PANAMA CITY
Mosley fell to Choctawhatchee and finished 1-1 in the Bay High School preseason tournament.

Octavia Langston led Mosley with 16 points and 13 rebounds, Kat Vogler had 10 points and Deanna Canfield added seven points and seven rebounds.

Mosley opens the regular season at home against Port St. Joe on Tuesday at 1:15 p.m.
