Prep roundup (Nov. 12): Mosley girls soccer notches fourth shutout

Comments 0 | Recommend 0

No one can touch Mosley's girls soccer team. Well, at least none of the Dolphins' first four opponents have.

Mosley secured its fourth shutout of the season, and third by mercy rule, on Wednesday with an 8-0 victory over Bay County rival Arnold at Harders Park. Hannah Nix recorded a hat trick and scored the decisive goal with 8 minutes to play. Mosley has been dominant early, with a mercy rule win also over Rutherford.

Five players scored goals and seven had assists in what coach Jon Rhodes called a team effort.

"It was all about teamwork," he said. "We played high pressure and high tempo and had the depth to do it. Everybody we took off the bench had something to do with the result."

Chelsey Williams scored twice and Emily Vogler, Anna Hall and Sydney Perles each scored once for Mosley. Kat Vogler had two assists, and Nix, Chelsey Williams, Corinne Williams, Emily Underhill, Julia Bond and Rebecca Mellerski each had an assist.

Mosley goalkeeper Emily Grammer stopped one shot.

Arnold goalkeeper Maggie Gardner had eight saves.

There was no junior varsity match.
