Mosley girls first, boys second in district swim meet

PENSACOLA - Mosley's girls team successfully defended its District 1-2A title for the third consecutive year at Pensacola Washington by easily dispatching 13 others schools with 413 points. Rutherford placed eighth and Bay 11th.

Fort Walton Beach edged Mosley for the boys crown with Bay 12th and Rutherford 13th.

For the girls, Mosley's Sara Evans set new county records while winning the 200 IM and 100 breaststroke. Mary McDermott was seventh overall in points and won the 500 freestyle, Candice Hilton was eighth overall and won the 50 freestyle and Laura Kearns of Rutherford was ninth overall.
