Prep roundup (Sept. 20): Mosley top county team in cross country meet

TALLAHASSEE - Mosley's girls finished third and boys finished fourth in the Lincoln Invitational cross country meet Saturday at Tom Brown Park.

Sophomore runner Chelsey Williams finished 12th overall to lead the Dolphins' girls team, covering the 5-kilometer distance in 22:53.

Frankie Menna finished 12th in the boys race to lead Mosley in a time of 17:59.

Rutherford's Thomas Heikkinen was the top local finisher in the boys race, taking ninth in 17:39. Bay's Gabe Holguin finished 11th in 17:58.

Leon won both the girls and boys team titles, beating Maclay in the girls race by nine points. Jill Stolting of Maclay won the girls race in 19:22, more than half a minute ahead of the next finisher.

Leon's boys dominated, taking seven of the first eight places, led by Will Stanford in 15:28. They beat Lincoln 18-74 in team scoring. Maclay finished third.

Vonderharr leads Arnold
PENSACOLA
Lauren Vonderharr finished 48th in the Gulf Coast Cross Country Stampede hosted by Pine Forest High School.
Arnold will compete in the Rutherford Ram Run on Oct. 4 at Harders Park.

Mosley sweeps

PANAMA CITY BEACH
High-point swimmers Sara Evans and Michael Perdomo paced Mosley teams to overwhelming wins in the Bay County Pentathlon meet at the Aquatics Center at Frank Brown Park.

Mosley's girls amassed 769 points to 354 for runner-up Arnold. Rutherford had 156 and Bay 55.
The Dolphins' boys were evfen more impressive with 931 points to 286 for Arnold, 83 for Bay and 44 for Rutherford.

PCCS (0-5) is idle this week and plays at Lighthouse Christian in Montgomery, Ala., on Oct. 3
