District soccer: Mosley moves on; PSJ eliminated

TALLAHASSEE — Sophomore Kaylin Thomas headed in a corner kick by freshman Rachel Bates in the 50th minute as Mosley advanced to the championship game against Chiles. The second semifinal was decided on penalty kicks as Chiles and Lincoln finished 0-0.
The Dolphins, 14-4, defeated Chiles 6-0 and 4-1 during the regular season. Emily Grammer did not make a save for Mosley against Leon. The Dolphins had 18 shots, seven on goal.
Leading scorer Emily Vogler left the game for Mosley in the second half. Her status for the finals on Thursday is uncertain.
District 1-1A
Franklin County 1, Port St. Joe 0
EASTPOINT — Freshman Katie Seger assisted sophomore Stephanie Marxsen’s only goal of the game as Franklin County made its first regional tournament in just the fourth year of the program. Freshman keeper Macy Hunt had 16 saves to preserve the shutout.
The Seahawks, 7-4-3, host Rocky Bayou 6 p.m. CST Friday for the district title. Port St. Joe finished 8-4-1.
