Mosley boys golf fifth in regional, misses state by 12 strokes

The Mosley boys golf team shot a 309 and finished fifth in the Class 2A regional on Monday at the Killearn Country Club in Tallahassee.

Mosley missed qualifying for the state final by 12 shots. Senior Michael Riley led the Dolphins with a 73. Taylor Murphy shot 78, Tyler Vincent and Mac MacLaren added 79s and Dalton Humphrey added an 80 for Mosley. Leon won the region with a 296, followed by Fort Walton Beach with 298.

"We played decent today but Fort Walton Beach and Leon were red hot and we just couldn’t make enough birdies to keep up. It’s a shame to see our season come to an end short of the state finals, but that’s golf, some days you do all you can but still come up short," said Mike Riley Mosley coach.
