Prep roundup (Sept. 29): Arnold teams win Bay Cross Country Invite

BAYOU GEORGE - The Arnold girls and boys finished first in the Bay High Cross Country Invitational held Saturday at Harders’ Park.

Lauren Vonderharr of Arnold finished first in the girls race with a time of 21 minutes, 49 seconds as Arnold scored 29 points to edge Mosley with 31. Natalya Miller of Wewahitchka was second at 22:05.

Five schools participated in the girls race, but Rutherford and Wewahitchka did not have full teams. Thirty-one girls finished the race.

Only four points separated the top three teams in the boys competition. Arnold won with 51 points, Mosley had 54 and Bay had 55.

Tommy Heikinan of Rutherford was the top finisher with a time of 17:37. Gabe Holquin of Bay was second at 17.53.

Rutherford will host the Ram Run at Harders’ Park on Oct. 6.
