Track: Rutherford's Cuff second in triple jump
Thorpe third in hurdles, relays do well
TALLAHASSEE — Rutherford’s Emanuel Cuff finished second in the triple jump at the Capital City track and field meet on Saturday at Tallahassee Chiles High School. Cuff had a leap of 40 feet 9½ inches.
Other Rams who placed included Fester Little third in the high jump at 5-10, Josh Williams fifth in the 200 at 23.73 seconds and Javen Threatt third in the 400 at 52.47.
Two Rutherford relay teams finished fourth. The 4x100 relay (Cuff, Josh Williams, Londel Williams and Isiah Sims) finished in 44.54 and the 4x800 team (Andrew Wylie, Carlos Gutierrez, Saajan Patel and Javen Threatt) finished in 8:56.
In the girls competition, Meagan Thorpe was third in the 100 hurdles at 16.06, Marchisha Bennett fourth in the 100 at 13.38 and Briana Davis sixth in the long jump at 14-11.
The girls 4x100 relay team (Lakia Snowden, Briana Davis, Marchisha Bennett and Jasmine Threatt) was second at 51.17.
Rutherford competes in the district meet, hosted by Bay, on Friday at Tommy Oliver Stadium.
