Cottondale's Humose added to East Freedom Classic roster
Comments 0 | Recommend 0Cottondale guard Marcus Humose has been chosen to replace the injured Kristo Kleimeyer on the East boys roster for the sixth annual Freedom All-Star Classic.
The 6-foot-1 Humose is the fifth guard on the team, joining Rutherford’s Malcolm Owens, Marianna’s R.J. Bowers, Franklin County’s Austin O’Neal and Port St. Joe’s Raheem Clemons. Humose scored 22 points per game and averaged five assists for the Hornets last season.
Humose is the fourth boys player from Cottondale to be selected to the Freedom Classic roster, with one in each of the past three years of the game. He is one of eight non-Bay County players on this year’s East team.
The Freedom Classic is April 3 at the Billy Harrison Field House on the campus of Gulf Coast Community College. The boys game is at 1 p.m. The girls start the day with an 11 a.m. contest.
Media Day: The Freedom Classic Media Day will be held at GCCC March 26 starting at 5 p.m. Teams will gather for photos and practice sessions. Food and refreshments will be provided for the players.
This is the second year for the Media Day, which allows players the chance to gain valuable practice time on the court as well as promote the event through interviews. It’s the first time the teams can size up the competition, as both the boys and girls teams from the East and West will be in attendance.
