GRACEVILLE — Logan Strausbaugh allowed no earned runs and struck out four during 6 2/3 innings pitching, and contributed a two-run single to Bozeman’s 7-run second inning, as the Bucks beat Graceville 9-2 on Thursday at Graceville.
Strausbaugh had plenty of offensive help. Ryan Hardy’s two-run home run capped the big second inning, Joey Brannen had a home run, Garrett Hall had two hits and Kegan Lewis had a double. Oh, and Strausbaugh had another hit.
The victory raised Bozeman’s District 2-2A record to 3-0, 4-3 overall. The Bucks host Vernon today in a key district contest.
Blountstown 1, Cottondale 0
BLOUNTSTOWN — Hunter Jordan tossed a complete-game shutout, allowing three hits, while striking out seven, in Blountstown’s first district victory. Jordan was rarely threatened during the game, leaving a running in scoring position only once, in the third inning.
If that wasn’t enough, Jordan had two hits, incluing a triple and a first-inning single that drove in the game’s only run.
Blountstown (3-3 overall, 1-2 District 2-2A) hosts South Walton in a district game at 6 p.m. today.
Bozeman won the junior varsity game 8-2. Winning pitcher Austin Priester struck out six. Brandon Suttles had two hits for the Bucks (2-5).
Holmes County 4, Wewa 1
BONIFAY — Cole Long was 3 for 3 with a double and a triple, and freshman pitcher Ty Russ struck out 10 in a complete-game effort for Holmes County. Will Thompson and Chase Arnold each had two-run doubles for the Blue Devils, who improved to 4-1 and 2-0 in District 2-2A. Holmes County plays at Sneads tonight at 6.

Marianna 16, Bay 1
PANAMA CITY — Marianna defeated Bay by the run-rule in five innings.
Bay’s Sarah Harris was 3 for 3 while Abi Burnett was 2 for 3.
Holmes County 16, Graceville 1
BONIFAY — Courtney Reeves was 3 for 3 with two doubles, five RBIs and three runs scored in Holmes County’s romp past Graceville in five innings.
Holmes County’s Ciara Jones was 3-4 with two doubles, two RBIs and three runs scored, Carley Long was 2-3 with one RBI and Sarah Pippin was 3-3 with one RBI and two runs scored.
Blue Devils starting pitcher Selina Long gave up three hits, struck out five and walked one for the win.
Holmes County (9-1) plays at Chipley on Monday.
Bozeman 6 Vernon 2
SAND HILLS — Brittany Benefield allowed one earned run and struck out seven as Bozeman raised its district record to 5-1, 6-3 overall.
Ashley Davis and Amber Wade had two hits each for Bozeman.
Bozeman won the junior varsity game 2-0.
The Bucks play at Graceville on Saturday, with the JV game at 11 a.m. and the varsity game at 1 p.m.

PANAMA CITY — Bay’s boys fell to 2-3 in a close defeat while the girls are now 0-5. Bay hosts Pensacola West Florida on Tuesday.
