Mosley boys golf finishes second, advances to regional

TALLAHASSEE — Mac MacLaren shot a 76 on Tuesday to lead Mosley to a second-place finish in the District 2-2A boys golf tournament at Killearn Country Club.

The Dolphins finished five shots behind district champion Tallahassee Chiles (308). Tallahassee Leon finished with a 317 to place third.

Chiles, Mosley and Leon advanced to next week’s regional tournament at Panama Country Club. Tallahassee Lincoln and Lake City Columbia finished tied for fourth at 330.

Dalton Humphrey shot a 78, Dillon Humphrey a 79 and Taylor Murphy 80. Jeff Madison chipped in an 83, but his score wasn’t included in the team tally.

“We didn’t play our very best, but the goal was to advance to region,” Mosley coach Mike Riley said. “And we accomplished that with a little room to spare.”

Chiles’ Matt Young was the individual district champion with a 68.
