Arnold girls claim district golf title

MARIANNA — Arnold was the lone school with enough golfers to qualify as a team, as the Marlins shot a 227 to win the district tournament, which was shortened to nine holes due to weather. Arnold’s Lindsey Harrison was the district champion with a 46. Elena Itameri shot a 57, Michaela Cooley 58 and Natalia Busuttil 66 for the Marlins at Indian Springs Golf Club in Marianna.

Rutherford’s Katy Hyland shot a 49 and Marianna’s Angie Carpenter and Caroline Rogers 52 and 59, respectively, to advance as individuals to next week’s regional tournament in Pensacola.
