Area teams gear up for regional volleyball
PANAMA CITY BEACH — The Arnold volleyball team is on the road Tuesday for a Region 1-5A quarterfinal match against Wakulla at 6 p.m. CDT.
The Marlins (17-9) finished second at the District 1-5A tournament following a three-set loss against Gulf Breeze in the district championship last Thursday. Wakulla earned the No. 1 seed out of the District 2-5A tournament with a victory over Live Oak Suwannee in the title match.
District 2-6A champion Mosley hosts Tate in a regional quarterfinal match on Wednesday. Walton, the runner-up in District 1-4A, travels to Tallahassee to play Florida High on Wednesday.
The 1A regional tournaments begin with the semifinals next Tuesday. In the Region 2-1A tournament, Blountstown hosts Altha and Liberty County travels to Sneads. Chipley plays at Baker in the Region 1-1A bracket.
