Mosley's Murphy to compete in Panhandle Cup event
Taylor Murphy of Mosley is a member of the West team that will compete in the Panhandle Cup match play golf event Saturday and Sunday at Camp Creek Golf Club.
Twenty-four matches are played and 12½ points required to win the cup, which is retained by the winning team. Competition is held between six-player girls and boys teams.
The West captain is Mosley coach Mike Riley, and team members from the Western Panhandle. The girls team includes Jaime Jordan, Stormy Staton, Kayla Bloor and Ivey Kelly from Niceville and Rachel and Summer Struzinski from Fort Walton Beach. The boys team is Murphy, Trey Aguirre from Navarre, Fisher Bodenstein and Jesse Floyd from Milton, Evan Smith from Gulf Breeze and Joe Stepnes from Washington.
The East team is from the Tallahassee area. Girls on the squad are Haley Hill and Carlton Kuhlo from Chiles, Callie Kitchens from North Florida Christian, Devin Lowe from Wakulla and Kolby McWilliams and Caroline Parrish from Maclay. The boys are Grant Beck and Branden Collins from Leon, Chase Burkhalter from Chiles, Stone Cowie from Wakulla, Robert Rust from Maclay and Henry Westmoreland from Florida High.
