PCST places second in Paradise meet
PANAMA CITY BEACH — The Panama City Swim Team placed second overall as a team at the Paradise Invitational swim meet held last weekend at the Frank Brown Park Aquatic Center.
PCST swimmers broke 17 team records (13 individually, four in relays) en route to 1,274.5 points as a team. That placed the Tsunamis second behind Area Tallahassee Aquatic Club, which defended its team title with 2,149.5 points. In all, 546 swimmers from 13 teams competed, making the meet the second-largest ever held in Bay County.
Michael Duderstadt paced the PCST boys with the third-most points collected individually in the Senior Boys division, and teammate Chet Seaman was fifth overall in the same division. Tristan Gandy was second in the 8-under boys category.
Victoria Hove led the Tsunami girls with three second-place finishes in the Senior Girls division, good for third overall in the high-point standings. Competing in the 8-under girls division, Marisa Ashley and Isa Gobel were second and fifth among high-point earners.
Duderstadt was second in four races: The 100-yard freestyle, 100 breaststroke, 200 breaststroke and 50 freestyle. Seaman was first in the 400 individual medley and second in the 200 IM. Also in the Senior boys division, Jonathan Ratliff posted second-place finishes in the 200 and 500 freestyle. Gandy won three races (25 freestyle, 25 backstroke, 25 breaststroke) and was second in three others (100 freestyle, 50 backstroke and 50 breaststroke).
Hove was second in the 200 breaststroke, 200 IM and 400 IM. Kari Troia, competing in the 11-12 girls division, was first in the 50 and 100 breaststroke. Ashley won the 25 breaststroke and was second in the 25, 50 and 100 freestyle, 25 backstroke, 50 breaststroke and 200 IM.
