CHIPLEY — Mosley couldn’t hold back Early County (Ga.) in the first round of the second annual Holiday Express boys basketball tournament Tuesday night, falling 99-84.
Mosley, which trailed 46-32 at halftime, cut the lead to 10 points midway through the fourth quarter, but couldn’t catch the unbeaten Georgia team (8-0).
Kurt Barger scored a season-high 35 points including three 3-pointers to the lead the Dolphins (6-7). Nat Dixon added 17 points with four 3-pointers and Cameron Britton had 10 points for the Dolphins, who play Pensacola High today at 4 p.m.
Early County’s Darontay McCoy scored a game-high 42 points while teammate Ladonis Yarbrough added 22 points including six 3-pointers, five in the third quarter alone.

TAVARES — Arnold was deadlocked 0-0 at halftime in the Hickory Invitational before Spruce Creek pulled away. Josh Murphy made two solid saves early to keep the Marlins close and finished with five total. The Marlins, 3-7-3, play Edgewater 9 a.m. CST today.
