Baseball: Bozeman 4, South Walton 3

SAND HILLS — Brady Oates’ single in the fifth inning gave Bozeman the lead for good as the Bucks held off South Walton. Ryan Hardy was 2 for 4 with two doubles and an RBI, Matt Hall had four strikeouts for the win and Nick Gutierrez had a strikeout and induced a pop out for the save for Bozeman (3-3, 2-0 District 2-2A) is at Graceville on Thursday. 

Wewahitchka 9, John Paul II 2

WEWAHITCHKA — Austin Chumney had a home run and three RBIs to key a Wewahitchka win. Heath Bailey was 2 for 3 with two RBIs, Tyler Whitten 2 for 3 with a double and three RBIs and Cole Harper and Beau McCorvey were each 2 for 4 for Wewa (5-1). McCorvey struck out 11 to take the win for the Gators, who are at Holmes County on Thursday.

Holmes County 11, Graceville 1

GRACEVILLE — Kodi Russ was 2 for 4 with a home run and three RBIs, Will Thompson 2 for 4 with a home run and two RBIs and Corey Wilson 2 for 3 with two RBIs for Holmes County. Thompson was the winning pitcher with nine strikeouts while giving up one hit through five innings for the Blue Devils (3-1, 2-0 District 2-2A), who host Holmes County on Thursday.

Bay 10, Wewahitchka 6

PANAMA CITY — Kyle Melquist was 3 for 4 with two RBIs, A.J. Certalich 2 for 3 with two RBIs and two stolen bases and Thomas Johnstone and Kelly Jones each two RBIs for Bay. Jones was the winning pitcher, going four innings while giving up three hits with five strikeouts for the Tornadoes (2-1-1), who are at Mosley tonight.

Softball

Rutherford 8, Mosley 3

SPRINGFIELD — Becca Taylor pitched a complete game for the win and also had a triple and home run to lead Rutherford past county rival Mosley. Chelsey Childers and Ashley Robinson each had two hits for the Rams (4-4), who host Wakulla on Friday.

Brooke Wilke, Morgan Walters and Jill Johnson each had two hits and Meagan Creel was the losing pitcher for Mosley (5-4), which is at Fort Walton Beach on Friday.

Bozeman 8, South Walton 6

SAND HILLS — Ashley Davis and Chelsea Sizemore each drove in two runs to pace Bozeman. Hannah Redding, Kinsley Faulkenberry and Amber Wade each had two hits and Becca Hall scored two runs for the Bucks (5-3, 4-1 District 2-2A). Brittany Benefield had six strikeouts for the win and Davis earned the save for Bozeman, which hosts Vernon on Thursday.

Holmes County 8, Blountstown 1

BONIFAY — Jenna Belser 3 for 4 with a triple, home run and three RBIs, Ciara Jones 2 for 3 with an RBI and Sarah Pippin 2 for 3 with two doubles for Holmes County. Pippin got the win, giving up three hits with eight strikeouts and two walks for the Blue Devils (8-1), who host Graceville on Thursday.
