Bozeman places third at Best of the Beach
FORT WALTON BEACH — Brandon Kenny and Jonathan Reyes each posted 7-1 individual records as Bozeman placed third out of 16 teams in the Beast on the Beach wrestling tournament this weekend.
The Bucks defeated Marianna 51-15 in the opening round to avenge their only prior loss of the season. Bozeman then edged Crestview 42-36, was outscored 39-36 by Niceville in the third round and bounced back with 41-30 victory over Wakulla in their final match Friday night.
That gave Bozeman a 3-1 dual record and earned a spot in the championship pool on Saturday.
Bozeman opened Saturday with a 69-12 loss to Tallahassee Lincoln, but again bounced back. The Bucks defeated Crestview again, 51-27, overcame a strong team from Hayden, Ala., 48-33 and upended Pace 48-27 in the third-place match.
Bozeman’s dueal record is 19-3. The Bucks next action is a dual against visiting Mosley on Jan. 11.
