Bay United 1-0-1 on first day of President's Cup
Comments 0 | Recommend 0COLUMBUS, Ga. - The Bay United Sharks U16 girls soccer team went 1-0-1 on Friday, their first day of competition at Region III President's Cup.
Bay United defeated WSA 92 from Oklahoma 1-0 in the morning game. Mosley's Chelsey Williams scored the game's only goal in the first half off an assist from Hannah Nix. Angela Canington earned the shutout in net.
In their second game, the Sharks tied AU Capital SC 92G Navy from Texas, 0-0.
The Sharks play the SRFC Lady Raiders from Tennessee this morning in the last game of pool play. Heading into today, Bay United is tied for first in Group C with AU Capital SC 92G Navy with four points each.
The winners of the three pools and a wild card entry advance to the semifinals.
