District swimming: Arnold girls first, boys second

TALLAHASSEE - The Arnold girls team won the District 1-1A swimming title and the Marlins' boys placed second Wednesday in the meet hosted by Florida High.
Arnold has 21 girls and nine boys advancing to the Region 1-1A meet, and could have a few more as some relays still are in the mix according to how their times compare to nonwinners in other districts.
Katie Branham and Troy Vonblankenburg each won two events for Arnold, and the Marlins also boasted district diving champions in Julie Stephenson and Roger Williams.
The Region 1-1A meet will be Nov. 7 at Jacksonville Bolles.
