LYNN HAVEN - Parker Sheffield had three goals and Andrew Cummings and Olivia Dew one each as Covenant remained unbeaten with a 5-3 win over Gateway Christian Tuesday in a co-ed soccer game played at the Lynn Haven Sports Complex. Dew's goal was the first by a girl in school history.

Notching assists were Ryan Pons with two and Nick Adams and Cummings with one apiece. Grant Sparks had four saves in goal and Bradley Kirksey had one.

Covenant, 2-0-2, plays Emanuel Christian 5 p.m. Thursday in Dothan, Ala.

Arnold wins county match

PANAMA CITY BEACH
Samantha Bates turned in a 45 to pace Arnold to a three-team county girls golf match win at Hombre Golf Club. The Marlins shot 223, besting Mosley (232) and Rutherford (255).

  • Arnold: Bates 45, Kali DeBerry 57, Lura Edge 60, Kayla Frost 61.
    Mosley: Ginny Shipman 51, Lindsey McCambry 57, Hillary Maddox 60, Ashley Ingram 64.
    Rutherford: Amy Caswell 61, Amy Lanford 63, Elizabeth Heikkinen 65, Ellen Trushon 66.

Walton 3, Arnold 0

DeFUNIAK SPRINGS
Walton County defeated Arnold 25-16, 25-16, 33-31 as the Marlins fell to 3-2.

Haley Lanier had seven kills and six digs while Katie Steelman had nine kills and five digs for Arnold.

The Arnold JV team defeated Walton 25-21, 25-22 to improve to 2-0.
