Whitson deadline nears

The signing deadline for Chipley High School baseball star Karsten Whitson is coming up tonight.
Whitson has until 11 p.m. to sign a contract with the San Diego Padres, the team that drafted him as the ninth pick in the first round.
No word yet from the Whitson camp, but the Padres remain confident that Whitson will sign. If not, Whitson has a scholarship offer at the University of Florida.
