Seven Panhandle Track Club members advance to AAU nationals
Comments 0GAINESVILLE - Seven members of the Panhandle Track Club placed high enough on Saturday in the state AAU meet to qualify for the national event in August. The first day of the state event at the University of Florida was punctuated by six third-place finishes for the club.
Saturday's national qualifiers and their times were: John Franklin third in high jump (6-4), Javon Threatt third in the youth 400 dash (46.13), Terrance Lowder third in the intermediate 400 (49.79), Nicole Daniels third in the young women 400 (58.7) and third in the high jump (4-10), Megan Thorpe third in the 100 hurdles (18.36), Thomas Williams fourth in the discus (117-4) and Emery Coleman fifth in the intermediate 400 hurdled (1:00).
Franklin, Lowder and Threatt each qualified for the 200 final today.
