What 2 Look 4 in Week 9 of the season (See Schedule, Photos)
Comments 0Rutherford’s playoff life hangs in the balance and its fate may be decided by what happens at the stadium across the bridge from Panama City Beach.
The Rams (4-4, 3-2 District 1-3A) face struggling Arnold (4-3, 2-3) at the Mike Gavlak Sports Complex. Over at Tommy Oliver Stadium, Bay (4-4, 3-2) entertains second-place Choctawhatchee (4-3, 4-1).
Rutherford needs a win to stay in the district race. But, the Rams would be shut out of the postseason if Choctaw beats Bay. Choctaw could finish with two district losses, the same as Rutherford, but would earn the head-to-head tiebreaker.
A Rutherford and Bay win leaves those teams and Choctaw with two losses after Friday. The Tornadoes would need a victory over Pensacola next week to assure that stays true.
In District 2-1A, Blountstown (6-1, 3-0) can take a major step toward locking up the district against Franklin County (3-4, 1-2). The Tigers can secure the crown with two more wins, or by help from other teams.
Mosley is at Tallahassee Rickards on Thursday to kick off the week.
