Black Sox win three of four games at Chipola

The North Florida Black Sox won three of four baseball games at Chipola College on Friday and Saturday.

The only loss was a 7-5 setback against the Florida Longhorns of Pensacola. The Black Sox play the Longhorns at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday at Chipola College.

The Black Sox (17-3) defeated the Panhandle Indians 9-7 on Friday.

Adam Abrams pitched 1 2/3 innings in relief for the win.

Nick Hartzog was 2 for 5 with one RBI, Jarad Lee was 2 for 4, and James Wynn was 2 for 4 with two doubles and an RBI to lead the Black Sox.

The Black Sox then lost to the Longhorns on Friday night. Losing pitcher Dustin Ward struck out four and gave up four earned runs in six innings.

Lee was 2 for 3 with two doubles, while Hartzog had a double and two RBIs.

On Saturday, the Black Sox defeated the Next Level Bears of Tallahassee 14-2 in five innings. Matt Dannon struck out eight and gave up two earned runs for the win.

Kyle Sapp led the Black Sox with a triple, two singles and three RBIs. Bryce Layne had two-run homer, Kyle Mitchell was 2 for 3 with two RBIs, and Derrick Burke was 2 for 3 with two RBIs.

The Black Sox beat Albany Post 30 later Saturday 7-0. J.D. Johnson struck out five in three innings for the win. Josh Allen was 2 for 3 with a double and solo home run while Bryce was 3 for 3 with a solo home run.
