Prep roundup (Sept. 5): Mosley golf stays unbeaten

PANAMA CITY BEACH - Mosley's Chase Seiffert shot a 3-under 69 over the Bad and Ugly nines at the Hombre to lead the Dolphins to victory in a five-team meet Thursday that included four county teams. Mike Riley added a 72 for the Dolphins.

Mosley finished with a 295 for a 30-shot victory.

Tyler Chavira shot a 74 to lead Arnold, which finished second. Chance Pospichel had a 76 for the Marlins.
Tyler Vincent had a 40 on the Good nine to earn medalist honors in the junior varsity match. No team scores were kept.

Arnold wins opener

LYNN HAVEN
Arnold's Samantha Bates and Courtney Webb shot 33 and 34, respectively, as the Marlins won a three-way match at Nature Walk.

The Marlins totaled 148 to second-place Mosley's 153. Rutherford was third at 199.

Arnold's Kayla Frost had a 40 and Lura Edge 41.

Hillary Maddox and Ashley Ingram each had a 37 to lead Mosley while Lindsey McCambry had a 38 and Ginny Shipman 41.

Rutherford's Elizabeth Heikkinen, Amy Landford and Amy Caswell each had 49s while Ellen Truchon had a 52.

The three teams play again on Tuesday at The Hombre.

Volleyball
Bay 3 Godby 1
TALAHASSEE
Kristian Robertson had 18 assists, and Lindsey Morrow added 14 kills and four aces, as Bay raised its record to 2-0 with a 25-17, 26-28, 25-22, 26-24 victory over Godby. Bay's junior varsity (2-0) also won, with four aces by Ashley Atkinson.

Bay plays at Arnold on Tuesday.

PANAMA CITY BEACH
Arnold won its season-opening match in three games, downing Wewahitchka 25-18, 25-19, 25-12.

The Marlins got contributions from a variety of players: Bella Camperlengo four kills, five digs, three aces; Haley Lanier three kills, five digs, five aces; Katie Steelman 10 kills, four service aces; and Kristen Miller 23 assists, two kills, two service aces.

Arnold travels to the Navarre Invitational on Saturday.

JAY
Vernon jumped to early leads and earned a 25-13, 25-15, 25-21 win over Jay. TheYellow Jackets led 9-1 in the first set and 7-1 in the second.

Bozeman 16, Holmes County 0

BONIFAY
Joey Brannen and Isaiah Robbins each scored a rushing touchdown, and Greg Weathers had an interception, for Bozeman in its opener. The Bucks host Arnold next Thursday.

PANAMA CITY BEACH
Joel Evans had an 8-yard touchdown run, and Colton Kane passed for an 18-yard touchdown to Will Kenny, to lead Arnold to a season-opening win.

Bay scored its touchdown on a 75-yard kickoff return.

Mosley 16, Navarre 0
PANAMA CITY
Alton Mills had a 65-yard touchdown run, Jackson Platt added a 6-yard touchdown and Mark Grant kicked a field goal for Mosley.
